Our Vision
Whether within the walls of a school, in a youth movement, on a sports team, in a military unit, in a nursing home, or in the workplace, our vision is to help groups become growth-promoting environments in which every group member can feel safe and included, and experience care and support.

Our Vision and Goals
Matzmichim Academy was founded in 2004 with the goal of reducing pain and suffering in classrooms across Israel. In light of the success of our fieldwork with tens of thousands of educators, children, and youth, we expanded the use of the Matzmichim model to additional fields and diverse populations, including business companies, local authorities, informal education systems, parents, military units, and senior living frameworks. Wherever groups exist, there is a need to create and establish positive group norms that support growth.

The unique Matzmichim model was developed on the basis of theoretical and research-based knowledge, alongside extensive experience gained through broad fieldwork. From its early days, the organization collaborated with international organizations and drew on professional theories and leading researchers in order to establish an effective and reliable method, including AVP – nonviolent conflict resolution, IIRP – restorative communication, Gewalt Academy – the Academy of Violence, Prof. Robert Faris, UC Davis, California, and others.

The Matzmichim model has been examined through research and has shown measurable results in reducing aggression within groups and changing group norms (Assor, 2023).

Over the years, the Matzmichim method has become a center of attraction for hundreds of trainees each year, who are trained to use Matzmichim’s practical and effective tools in order to promote a positive climate in their professional settings.
In recognition of its innovative work in developing responses to social challenges, Matzmichim has received awards and recognition in Israel and abroad.
